Lu Yuanming, born in 1957, initiated his special YUANMING Log Handicraft Art in 1985. The exhibition of his handicrafts works was jointly organized in the Nationalities Cultural Palace, Beijing and France Embassy in China, Beijing, respectively in January 1988; of which, six (6) pieces of works were received and stored up by the Nationalities Cultural Palace, Beijing and other thirty (30) of them sent to the art exhibitions in many countries by the Ministry of Culture of the People’s Republic of China. His story, covered in a great quantity by several decades of mass media of TV stations, newspapers and periodicals, such as CCTV, Xinhua News Agency, People’s Daily，Fine Arts，etc., caused great public sensations throughout the country.

    The Log Handicrafts should be those vivid stereoscopic artistic articles made with branches and stems as raw materials from various woody, rattan or herbaceous plants and with hard materials as the skeleton of wood and steel products, iron nails, screws, etc.
    Such Log Handicrafts, making use of the natural quality and colors and lustrous in original log itself, would give out a simple and unadorned and cordial and friendly impression in psycho-perception to the people.
    There would be rich and varied internal grain and colors upon being cut and processed of the log materials.
    The Log Handicrafts created by Mr. Lu Yuanming, of primitive simplicity in images and full of wit and humor, would make one in an entirely new world.
